Rain Gutters systems are designed to drain the water away from your house. Screen systems work like a filter to keep leaves out, but not all screens work equally well. Wrong screens and "never clean gutters again" inventions create more problems than solve. GUTTER PROTECTION SYSTEMS PERFORMANCE:

Due to their open design, gutters catch water, shingle debris, seeds and little leaves at the same time. A screen protection system will only reduce the number of cleanings per year. As you will see, even with screens, gutter cleaning on a regular basis is a must to keep the gutters working properly.

VINYL SCREENS

Vinyl screens bend and deformed in the hot sun and crack easily from the elements allowing the daily debris to clog the gutters.

 

VINYL COVERS:

There is plenty of them on the maket. They "reduce" dramatically the size of the gutter openings causing to overflow and making the perfect place warm enough for bugs, birds and squirrels to build nests and multiply. 

Even if you installed VINYL COVERS, debris get carried into the gutter where it turns into layer after layer of organic muck goo. The most economical choice is to forgo expensive, ineffective covers and have your gutters cleaned regularly by a trusted company.

METAL COVERS  This is the most clear example of the poor covers performance. Note how the openings are "sealed" by debris causing overflowing and erossion issues.

Note the impressive amount of acumulated debris that the covers could not stop. This thick layer clogged downspouts and even the undergrounds were affected.

 

Do not  hit the winter with clogged gutters. You will regret it.

The frequency of gutter cleaning service will depends whether your home is adjacent to deciduous trees overhang your roof. If so, you may need to clean the gutters 4 times per year to prevent debris buildup. In normal conditions we suggest at least 2 services per year.
